Urgent Medical Concerns
Email is not monitored for urgent medical concerns. If your concern is urgent, please call our office directly. If you require more immediate medical attention, please visit the nearest Emergency Department or walk-in clinic.

Dr. Marc-Antoine Parent
CCFP — Family Physician
Originally from Gatineau, Quebec, Dr. Marc-Antoine Parent studied medicine at Université de Sherbrooke before completing postgraduate training in Internal Medicine and Family Medicine in Montreal.
His early career included work at the Montreal Heart Institute and Hôpital Fleury, followed by 15 years of practice in the Magdalen Islands, where he worked in emergency and family medicine and established the Islands’ first clinic dedicated exclusively to children.
In 2020, Dr. Parent and his family moved to Prince Edward Island, where he has been part of the Patient Medical Home team for the past four years. He is a strong believer in the collaborative medical home model and the comprehensive, team-based primary care it provides.
A father of five, Dr. Parent is an avid cyclist and reader who enjoys tennis, soccer, green tea, caring for his pool and deck, and washing his car by hand. His household also includes Timmy Tough Nuckles, the family’s newest kitten.


Sarah O'Connell
RN, NP - Nurse Practitioner
Sarah O’Connell is a Nurse Practitioner at the Charlottetown Medical Home. She began her nursing career as a Registered Nurse in 2011, gaining several years of experience in acute care before completing her Master of Nursing and becoming a Family/All Ages Nurse Practitioner in 2018. She brings a strong nursing foundation and a commitment to comprehensive, patient-centred primary care.
